Single Espresso Cup (Floating Blue)

Made by hand on the potter’s wheel, these petit cups were created for espresso. 

Crafted individually from high-fire stoneware sourced in Pennsylvania, each espresso cup is thrown, trimmed, lightly burnished before being fired in the kiln and glazed.

With its dimensional deep blue hues and glassy texture, Floating Blue glaze appears semi-transparent, with hues of deep ocean blue, amber, and light blue streaks that appear to float over the ceramic surface.

The lower third of each espresso cup is left raw, exposing the natural surface of the stoneware cup, which has been lightly burnished for a semi-smooth texture.

The underside of each cup is finished with a small foot ring and stamped with a maker’s mark. The curved base gives the appearance that the petite cup floats gently on the surface on which it sits.

Best used for espresso, sake, or other libations.
